Panagbenga 2019 Schedule of Activities
Baguio is known for its cold climate weather and more so known as the Philippines’ Summer Capital. Every year, too, people go to this mountain resort as one of the most anticipated events of the year takes place every February to March – The Panagbenga: Baguio Flower Festival.

For this edition, the Flower Festival will have the theme “Blooming Forward.” Though its theme is quite simple this year, I have come to comprehend that this theme conveys a powerful meaning – moving towards development and change. Conceptualized in 1996 to make the City a premier summer resort destination again after the 1990 earthquake that struck Northern Luzon, the festival symbolizes the rebirth and regrowth of the City as the blossoming of flowers convey hope to its people.

The Flower Festival has always been special to me as I took part in its parades since my Elementary years. Since my ‘graduation’ in participating in the parades in 2013, I have come to document the festivities every year. I want to show you, my readers, why Panagbenga is one of the most sought after festivals in the country. (After the feast of Sto. Nino also known as Dinagyang in Iloilo, Sinulog in Cebu, and Ati-atihan in Aklan in January.)
Patterned after the Rose Parade in California, Panagbenga showcases fresh flowers and plant installations every year! Thus, millions of tourists flock the City streets to join in the celebration!
