My Panagbenga 2025 Experience
Panagbenga 2025 is one of the major festivals in northern Luzon every February celebrating the rich culture and tradition of the Cordillera region. This year marks its 29th staging and its exhibition during the months of February and March is a perfect setting for the cool summer breeze in the Cordilleras. This is my personal experience on this year’s festivities and how I discovered why Panagbenga 2025 “blossoms beyond boundaries.”

Panagbenga 2025 – Blossoms Beyond Boundaries
Panagbenga 2025’s theme, “Blossoms Beyond Boundaries,” is a testament to the festival’s commitment of strengthening ties beyond its environs. With its vision of strengthening bonds within the BLISTT area (Baguio, La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, Tublay), Panagbenga aims to forge wider partnership with its sister cities here in the Philippines and overseas (as seen in this year’s City Government Float).
As Panagbenga is always a celebration of the region’s bountiful harvest for the past year, this is also a perfect time to celebrate the region’s unity in diversity and to showcase the rich Cordilleran culture to everyone visiting the region – it is a living testament to the rich heritage that Panagbenga Festival wants to impart.
With the main highlights of Panagbenga 2025, that is the Grand Street Dance Parade and the Grand Floral Float Parade, this year’s edition went up a notch higher. Five elementary schools competed in the Drum and Lyre Competition and 7 contingents competed in the Festival Dance Open Category. A total of 42 Floral Floats also participated in this year’s Panagbenga Festival – 12 competing small floral floats, 9 medium floral floats, and 14 large floral floats. There were also 7 non-competing floats.
Part of the month-long Panagbenga 2025 is the showcase of the Professional Landscaping Competition at the Melvin Jones Grandstand, the Baguio Blooms Market Encounter at the Burnham Park Biking Area, Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio, the “Supercentennial Parade” in celebration of the 120th founding anniversary of the Baguio Country Club, and the Panagbenga Fluvial Parade at Burnham Lake.
One of the main highlights of Panagbenga 2025 too is the week-long Session Road in Bloom where several shops and food stalls offer a variety of goods, food, plants, and souvenir items.
Panagbenga 2025 also concluded with a stunning fireworks display all over the city’s main thoroughfares.
Since I have participated in Panagbenga Festival from 2003 to 2013, it always excites me to cover and witness this once-a-year event in Baguio City, and how memories come back when I was the one performing on the streets of Baguio.
