Expo 2025: Here’s what to expect in Osaka World Expo
EXPO 2025 Osaka Kansai – The World Expo is once again open and now is being hosted in one of the most interesting countries in the world – Japan! As it is my very first time attending a World Expo, EXPO 2025 definitely gave a good impression on how countries and organizations come together to show innovations for the future societies of our generation. Happening every after 5 years, sanctioned by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Osaka Expo is also the first World Expo to be held over water (in Yumeshima Island in Osaka).

What to expect in Expo ’25
***I went and attended the opening day of Expo 2025, last 13 April 2025 but the weather was not cooperative on the latter half of the day. What to expect in Expo 2025 are long queues everywhere, especially at the entrance gates, country pavilions, official stores, the information center, and common eating spots.
There are a number of common eating spots around the whole Expo site and ALL TRANSACTIONS WITHIN EXPO 2025 is CASHLESS. There are a few ways to pay for all merchandise and food purchased within the Expo Site, be it local Japanese Online Payment Platforms, 2D Barcodes, or your Credit Cards. More Cashless Expo details can be found here!
During my Expo 2025 experience, I visited 42 country pavilions and special pavilions. Here are some of my photos of the pavilions’ facades and expositions:
The World Expo happens every 5 years. The last host of the World Expo was the City of Dubai, UAE #Expo2020 and the next host of the World Expo is the City of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2030 #Expo2030.
