Badi Falls – Kapangan’s Beautiful Escape
Badi Falls – Kapangan, Benguet
Kapangan, Benguet – If you have explored Benguet well enough, you might have heard of Badi Falls in the municipality of Kapangan. Just 2 hours away from Baguio, this not-so-hidden gem is one of the refreshing sites that you must visit in the province. As the local guides would put it, “Badi” came from the word “bad-badi” which is a type of insect that once swarmed the area. A two-hour hike from the jump-off point is worth the walk with a mix of concrete, mossy, and muddy pathways awaits its visitors. Yes, it is tiring, but I say it is part of the adventure! *wink!*

Don’t go chasing Badi Falls
Badi falls is one of the waterfalls in Benguet that is multi-tiered and has a natural lake down below as it cascades in the mountainside. Found in the municipality of Kapangan, Benguet, this natural wonder is one that should be ticked off your bucket list when visiting the province. Tucked far from civilization, a two-hour hike would suffice to reach this wonder. The mossy and rocky terrain of the hike is an adventure on its own and I assure you that the experience will be worth it.
I can say visiting this falls is not for the faint-hearted. It really requires stamina and patience to get to see its natural beauty. The cascade of its ‘curtains’ are what makes Badi Falls unique from its other cousin-waterfalls in Benguet. I can say it is reminiscent of Hulugan Falls in Luisiana, Laguna (if comparison is warranted). It is best to visit the falls during the wet season in the Philippines because this is the time when the water current is at its peak.
