Boracay, oh, Boracay!

The sun’s all out again ‘cause it’s summer time in the Philippines! There are more than 7,107 fun reasons why it is still the best summer destination, especially Boracay!

Almost synonymous the summer is the party island of Boracay. Situated near mainland Panay, this party island is still the undisputed 24/7 island anywhere in the country. No doubt anybody could recognize the name ‘Boracay’ as it came from an Aklanese word meaning ‘cotton,’ which was then the island product during the Spanish era.

With lots of local and foreign tourists filling up the island’s shores – along with that white, fine sand and those unforgettable sunsets – this paradise eventually turns into a party haven come to the “Laboracay Season.”

Held every Labor Day week in the Philippines, Laboracay is the beach party to beat. This year’s splurge of summer is the island’s main attraction as it draws millions of tourists yearly. From different water or by-the-shore activities, Boracay never loses its charm. With the adage of Laboracay as one of its main island events, you’ll never run out of reasons to spend that perfect tan summer in Boracay.

Laboracay’s Summer Fever

Laboracay” is a coined word, combining “Labor” Day and “Boracay.” It is, at least not yet, an official event on the island. It is just a yearly activity where people get to enjoy the most out of summer during the Labor Day weekend in the Philippines. (In contrast to the Labor protests activists show during Labor Day on the mainland.)

You will not literally get that fever while on the island, rather, you will get hyped by the high energy Laboracay brings in anticipation. As social media became accessible almost to everyone, you get to see pictures and posts of people about what Laboracay is all about. It all boils down to the phrase “Party like crazy.”

The celebrations are then graced by local and international artists, alongside with some good booze and all-night party music. (Well, I personally like EDM and House Music).

Touchdown Boracay!

When I went to Boracay for the first time, I was just in awe of everything – from the warm smiles and Filipino hospitality of the people, from that perfect tropical weather, from the fine sand and calm water, and from the different sights and activities that you could do – I can say that Boracay is truly a paradise on earth.

Reasons why you’ll love (La)boracay again and again

With so much talkin’ on the first few paragraphs, here are my personal reasons why you’ll fall in love with Laboracay (and Boracay Island, too) over and over again!

1.) You get to meet new people and eventually make friends!

As the cliché goes, “no man is an island.” And so is it true in Boracay! You’ll never go here just to enjoy the island by yourself. Go out and make new friends! And with the island’s celebration of Laboracay, you will never go home empty-handed, but rather, you will go home with a bunch of friends! (Trust me!)

2.) Experience the island as much as you can!

Parasailing!

My first visit to Boracay was only scheduled for 3 days and 2 nights. And you’ve probably guessed it, it is not just enough! Bitin!

With so many things to do and experience, not to mention the delectable food offerings, you will never run out activities! From snorkeling, island hopping, parasailing, banana-boating, spelunking, ziplining, beach-bumming, jet skiing, helmet diving, bar hopping – name it, they have it!

It is also good to experience the mainland, too. Experience their rural way of life from trying their local delicacies, to riding their tricycles – so that you will not be alienated and still remember that you are still in the Philippines and nowhere else!

3.) Enjoy the island’s legendary sunset!

Personally, alongside Manila Bay’s dramatic sunset, I can tell that Boracay’s sunset is at par. Especially when enjoying that ice-cold beer or when you are just beach-bumming along the island’s shores, the sunset just gives you a (beautiful) hint that party time is about to start!

4.) Party like crazy!

Boracay for me is ‘paradise.’ And along with that comes the idea of having fun, especially at night! Enjoy the island’s nightlife (I recommend that it is best to experience it during the Laboracay weekend!)

I know that it is also good to party like crazy once in a while. Yes, I am talking about work-life balance. Whenever you are getting burned up at work, find time to relax and Laboracay is just around the corner every summer!

With cheap airfares offered almost all year-round, you have no excuse but just to book that trip and make the most out of everything out of that trip. Get it? Well, after all those stressful times you just need to find a perfect place you can call home.

5.) Lastly, find a place you can call ‘home.’

With Boracay’s (quite) saturated shoreline strung with high-end hotels and accommodations, a new and stylish home is ready to welcome you in experiencing the party island.

Lime Hotel Boracay is one of the newest hotels ever-ready to welcome you with complete Filipino hospitality. With its panoramic lounge decks giving you a perfect view of the island, Lime Hotel Boracay is your ‘home away from home.’

Situated in Station Two in White Beach, the 46 well-appointed rooms of this boutique hotel would give you that much comfort you deserve. You just have to relax and enjoy the superb services they would have to offer. Also with its environment-friendly design and chic functionality, Lime Hotel Boracay is the new “it hotel.”

Although Lime Hotel Boracay is a two-minute walk from the shoreline, it is but near Boracay’s famous tourist attractions like Mount Luho, Willy’s Rock, Puka Beach, and D’Mall and D’Talipapa! You can also find numerous (and I mean N-U-M-E-R-O-U-S) bars, cafés, and restaurants along White Beach. The Hotel is also in connection with the island’s top transportation service providers that specialize in airport transfers and island tours as well.
