Mount Ulap, let’s go!

Mount Ulap is one of the main attractions in the Ampucao – Sta. Fe Ridge in Itogon, Benguet. Officially opened to the public last October 2015, Mount Ulap easily got the attention of budding and expert hikers alike because the Cordilleran Mountains have the reputation of ‘being much closer to the clouds.’

The Ridge leading to Mount Ulap can be hiked within the day. It is likened to a ‘Triple Day Hike’ as you would be climbing three peaks within the Ridge – that is if you would be traversing the Ridge.

Average temperature here ranges from 15 Degrees Celsius to, at most, 20 Degrees. It is much cooler during the –ber months and during the ‘Amihan Season’ where temperatures range from 10 – 15 Degrees.

There are so many picturesque views on the site, be it from the view of the Cordillera mountains or from the view of the natural beauty of the Ridge as well (especially if you are on Gungal Peak, where you get to see Mount Ulap from afar.)

The terrain of the mountain is more likely that of Mount Pulag. Grassy land with many trees, but no dwarf bamboos is present. If the weather permits, you might also see a sea of clouds within the Ridge’s vicinity.
