Dinagyang 2023 Results
As one of the major festivals in the Philippines paying homage to the Sto. Niño (Child Jesus), Dinagyang 2023 is a comeback that everyone else are anticipating. After a 2-year hiatus wherein the festival was held online because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it did not stop Dinagyang to showcase their devotion and revelry.

Dinagyang 2023 Major Highlights
Dinagyang 2023 was highlighted by three of the major events of the festival proper. First was the return of the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahan where several contingents from Panay Island and neighboring provinces participated in the annual street-dancing affair.
I have a personal love of festivals as I was also a parade participant myself for Panagbenga for almost a decade (so I cannot hide my excitement whenever I see festivals like these doing what they do best.)
It was then followed by the first “ILOmination” competition where tribes and participating entries show their creativity at night through illuminated tribal costumes and floats. I compare this to that of Panagbenga’s Float Parade, only that it was held during the night.
And the main event happens. The Dinagyang sa Barangay Tribes 2023 Competition was back in the streets of Iloilo once again. Here, 8 major tribes competed for a chance to show their own stories and devotion to Señor Sto. Niño.
The tribes that competed in the competition were:
- Tribu Familia Sagrada
- Tribu Halimau
- Tribu Ilonggohanon
- Tribu Kanyao Sang Baybayanon
- Tribu Molave
- Tribu Panaad
- Tribu Parianon
- Tribu Sagasa
