My Panagbenga 2024 Experience
Panagbenga 2024 is one of the most anticipated festivals in the Philippines. With its homebase in Baguio City, the Summer Capital is always ready to give a show to tourists, locals, and visitors alike to showcase the rich culture and diversity of the Cordilleras! Here is my personal take on what I have experienced in this month-long celebration of “the season of blossoming!”

With Panagbenga 2024’s theme as “Celebrating Traditions, Embracing Innovation,” it is a showcase of the perfect blend between culture and advancement. Panagbenga is rooted with a cause to uplift the locals’ spirits after the devastating 1990 earthquake. Not only that, it is also the celebration of the season of blossoming and the celebration of the bountiful harvest that our kailyans have gained throughout the year.
With the main highlights of the festival – that is, the Grand Street Dance Parade and the Grand Floral Float Parade, I did not miss the chance to witness the grandeur of Panagbenga 2024 yet again.
Of course, part of the month-long celebrations of Panagbenga 2024 is the Landscaping Competition at the Melvin Jones Grandstand, the Market Encounter in Burnham Park, the Kite-Flying Competition, and the Fluvial Parade at Burnham Lake.

Of course, any local and visitor would also not miss the Session Road in Bloom along the famed Session Road. Here, I got to see and experience the different stalls offering different kinds of stuff! From food, beverages, retail, souvenirs, and shoes – you name it, they probably have it.
Since it has been 11 years since I last participated and paraded for Panagbenga, it always thrills me when the month of February comes. From the festive vibe that each contingent gives, to the smell of flowers during the float parade,I know that I am home in Baguio City.

Celebrated during the month of February, Panagbenga is one of the major festivals in North Luzon. You will get to see and experience what it is to live in the Summer Capital of the Philippines through culture and innovation. With that, it is another successful year for the Baguio Flower Festival!
On to the next festival! We’re born to travel!
