Here are the 6 places I have personally been to in SABTANG ISLAND when I visited Batanes:
6 Places to Explore in Sabtang Island, Batanes
SABTANG
Port of Sabtang

The Port of Sabtang is the main gateway of the island from Batan Island. This is Sabtang’s biggest port and is adjacent to some key establishments essentially for tourists. This is also the place where you will register and meet your local tour guides.
Chamantad-Tiñan Viewpoint

The early part of your Sabtang Island Tour is a visit to the Chamantad-Tiñan Viewpoint. This is the island’s version of the Rolling Hills and it offers a good view of the Luzon Strait. It features several limestone rock formations with a scenic, white-sand cove below. Along the way, I got to see some native vuyavuy palms (Philippines’ version of a date palm, only shorter) and this is also the very plant that is used to create the vakul (traditional women’s headgear) and the kanayi (traditional men’s vest).
St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel

The St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel is one of the popular places of worship in Sabtang Island. It is also located beside a ‘beateria’ – a house for lay religious women who reside in the place.
Sabtang Island Stone Houses

As Batanes is known to be the province to be mostly hit by typhoons passing by the country, Batanes is also known for its stone houses, notably the Savidug Stone Houses and Chavayan Stone Houses both in Sabtang Island. These houses are made from rocks and corals roofed by meticulously bundled cogon grass, which are made to withstand strong typhoons and winds.
*Unfortunately when I visited, the road leading to Chavayan Village was currently under repair and only locals were allowed to pass through at that time. (At least I have something to go back to on my next visit!)
Morong Beach, Mayahao Arch, Nakabuang Cave

If you want some peace and quiet and want to be isolated for a while, Morong Beach is one of the places to visit. Located on Sabtang island’s northern part, it features a white sand stretch overlooking Batan Island. You can also see the Mayahao Arch, a natural rock arch formed near the beach’s entrance. Along the coastline, you can also see the Nakabuang Cave, a hollow cave formed from the drastic waves of the ocean.
Sabtang Lighthouse

Upon entering the island of Sabtang, you will be greeted by the imposing Sabtang Lighthouse. Though this place is now private, it is still a sight to see on the island when you are having lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Pananayan Canteen and Catering Services

Pananayan Canteen and Catering Services is located just below Sabtang Lighthouse and is a good stop when touring around Sabtang Island. This is where I had my lunch when I did a day tour on the island.

You can contact my guide, Kuya Dennix Ferido Cantor of Naidi Hills Tour Services (click on his name to direct you to his Facebook profile.
