Mana Café Baguio City | Turista Boy

If you were not that satisfied with the Part One of this blog (link below), here is Part Two of Baguio Restaurants and Cafes with good views and good food, too! As the City is now accepting leisure travelers (upon presentation of proof of full vaccination or negative RT-PCR Swab Result for unvaccinated and partially vaccinated tourists), the tourism industry in Baguio is starting to cope up with the effects of the pandemic. With this, businesses, especially in the food and beverage sector puts the notch a bit higher to bring an unforgettable dining experience for their guests. So here you go, here is Part Two of Baguio Restaurants and Cafes with good food and good view!

1. Quesadilla Queen (Summer Place Residences, Marcos Highway)

Quesadilla Queen Baguio Restaurants | Turista Boy

If you are a fan of Mexican food and Quesadillas at that, Quesadilla Queen is one of the Baguio Restaurants that offer just that. Not just their hearty and healthy meals, their view of the nearby municipality of Tuba makes the experience more rewarding. I am a sucker for good views and I say Quesadilla Queen (and Mana Cafe) offer unmatched views of the Benguet skyline. It is also a bonus if you get to see the sunset along the shores of La Union on a clear day.

I recommend that you try their “labo labo,” a combination of bite-size quesadillas with a choice of added side dish (either Ceasar’s Salad or Fries.)

Located in the same building as that of Quesadilla Queen, Mana Cafe is also one of the better choices of Baguio Restaurants with good food! Serving a fusion of Filipino and Western dishes and locally-concocted coffee drinks, Mana Cafe sets the bar high when it comes to food presentation and the taste of their menu offerings as well. Overlooking the nearby mountains of Tuba and the La Union shoreline on a clear day, the cafe’s relaxing ambiance makes your dining an experience on its own.

I have personally tried their Barbeque Burger and their Beef Bulgogi Rice meal, paired with their own “Armando’s Blend” – with gold sheets! The best time to go visit Mana Cafe is before sunset in order for you to see it while dining al fresco. You’re welcome!

3. Ridge Loft Inn (North Sto. Tomas Road, Sto. Rosario Valley)

Ridge Loft Inn is located just near the main Marcos Highway thoroughfare and its restaurant offers one of the best views of Sto. Rosario Valley and nearby limestone rock formations near Crystal Cave (Bakakeng Central) Barangay. This is one of the newest addition of Baguio Restaurants that offer a good view while enjoying their delish food choices. What I like about their restaurant is that it offers a 180-degree view of the rock formations and the sunset as well on a clear day.

Its al fresco setup in the restaurant’s rooftop offers a 180-degree view of the City skyline, most notably the Baguio Cathedral, Burnham Park, and SM City Baguio. Their varied and diverse menu choices makes it a must-go restaurant because you can try a different kind of cuisine on each of your next visits. Its cool ambiance is complemented by the nice view of the mountains of Itogon and Tuba, paired with hearty pulutan while enjoying your mug of beer! 8. Oh My Gulay! (Session Road)

This rooftop restaurant along Session Road is one of the Central Business District’s well-kept secrets. If you are new in exploring Baguio City, Oh My Gulay! is one of the Baguio Restaurants that not just offers uniquely-named and delicious food, it also offers a good view of the City skyline, particularly the nearby Burnham Park and Legarda Road where you get to see the Cityscape from a different vantage point. Not only that, you also get to roam around the restaurant and savor the art installations in place and get to know the story of each. One of the newest Baguio Restaurants that I recommend you try is View ‘n Plates Grill and Restaurant (formerly known as Aunkel’s Grill and Restaurant). I put it as a modern-day karinderya / eatery wherein they serve hearty Filipino cuisine (which is good for groups, by the way) and offers a generous view of Quirino Hill and Busol Watershed from afar. I recommend that you dine here before and during sunset as the place becomes more romantic and you can really feel the cool Baguio climate. This ‘kubo in the sky‘ is an al fresco restaurant and all corners are literally open! (Bring your jackets, turistas!)

What I tried here is their Bagnet Kare-Kare and View ‘N Plates Rice which is to die for! Since kare-kare is one of my favorite Filipino dishes, it is one of the best recipes I have tasted. We paired it Sago’t Gulaman and typical Halo-Halo to complete the experience! I swear that their menu is overwhelmingly Filipino and their open kitchen is also one of their highlights.

Bonus: Restaurants outside Baguio with good views, too!

1. Via Von Joy Restaurant and Cafe

Via Von Joy is one of the restaurants found outside that is becoming popular because of its location and generous food servings. I was surprised at first because their servings are really big and their mountainside location makes the ambiance more relaxing. The distance from Baguio’s Central Business District is far and the travel to Via Von Joy is worth it. Overlooking the mountains of Itogon, it is a perfect place for sunset, too!
