Traveling has now become one of the popular fads to date, and finding the perfect equipment when you are traveling can be somewhat challenging. Good thing Deuter Philippines found its way 5,050 feet above sea level, into the country’s Summer Capital – Baguio City.
Also known as the jump-off to Mount Pulag and many other more unexplored mountains in the Cordilleras, Baguio City is the perfect hub to launch its new concept store. Offering everything the adventurer needs when exploring, Deuter offers everything be it from backpacks, mountain gears, accessories and everything that has to do with adventure.

Deuter’s Fit Center
Being the first of its kind in the country, the Fit Center would let its customers fit their backpacks to get a feel for what appropriate backpack would fit them. Its primary goal is to give everyone the ease when traveling, or even when simply just strolling around the city.

When I was asked to try one of Deuter’s Backpacks! 🙂
During their official launch, I got to experience a Deuter backpack with a simulated weight of at least 8-9 Kilograms, but when I carried the bag, the weight was actually distributed on my hips, back, and shoulders.
In fact, the actual weight distribution is 70-20-10. 70% of the weight is put around the hips, 20% in the back and 10% is put on the chest.
Their Purpose
The fit center is focused on the “importance of purchasing a backpack with a perfect fit.” To maximize the Deuter experience, the team brought us to a short walk at The Residences at Brent Trail inside the Brent International School to try what it feels like to carry a simulated amount of weight loaded into our bags while hiking.

They also shared some tips when packing your things inside a backpack. They taught us to load heavy things in the middle, lighter things in the bottom, and important things on top. This is the usual packing that should be done to stabilize one’s balance when traveling. (Now that’s one thing I would be keeping in mind every time I travel, well, you should, too!)
