Now that it is not a secret, the Enchanted River in the Municipality of Hinatuan is approximately 1 hour from the City of Bislig or 3 hours from the City of Tandag. This deep blue spring river emanates from a cave, whose chambers have yet to be explored by the locals as it is believed that the river was once the home of supernatural beings which act as its protectors.

The River now has different sites that can be enjoyed, mainly with its blue still water, where fish can freely swim in the area, too. On the other side of the river, visitors can enjoy a dip in its public pool where we took the chance to swim since it was our first time there. At the tail-end portion of the opening of the river, you can also avail of an island hopping experience where its final destination is in Sibadan Fish Cage where the famous Brenda the stingray can be found.

Visiting the Enchanted River in Hinatuan can be best paired after you visit Tinuy-an Falls in Bislig City, which is approximately 1 hour away. You can take the Surigao-Davao Coastal Road and the inner, minor roads leading to the river. Fret not as there are a lot of road signs leading to the area. For the contact person / guide, I highly recommend kuya Dondon (Edchie Robles) as your tour guide. You can contact him at +63 926 552 9636 or +63 909 207 9060. Tell him you were referred by Chiki from Baguio City! 🙂
