Panagbenga 2022 Schedule of Activities
Panagbenga 2022: Let Hope Bloom
As Baguio City is seeing a downward trend in Covid-19 cases, the city is again set to stage a low-key and downgraded Panagbenga 2022 with the theme, “Let Hope Bloom.” The Baguio Flower Festival is set to be staged on March 6 – 27, 2022, sans the usual Grand Street Dance and Floral Float Parades – to prevent the further spread of Covid-19.
Being one of the most anticipated events in the country, Panagbenga draws thousands of local and international tourists to witness this annual season of blooming. After a two-year hiatus, Panagbenga 2022 organizers (through the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc.) are hoping that this would be the start of the gradual revival of the city’s economy crippled by the ongoing pandemic. With its simple celebration this year, Panagbenga will try to bring hope to people through the festivals’ traditional activities amid the ongoing health crisis.
What to expect for Panagbenga 2022
Usually, Panagbenga begins on the first day of February and ends usually on the first week of March. Panagbenga 2022’s festivities will be much simpler but keeping the essence of the festival itself – concentrating on the landscaping events and the Session Road in Bloom.
Panagbenga 2022 will also stage the 2nd Montañosa Film Festival featuring locally produced films and documentaries and will also cater to the 9th Stage of the Ronda Pilipinas Baguio Leg. To complement the festivities, the Baguio Country Club will also its Blooms Garden Exhibit in their theme park until summer.
Here is the schedule for this year’s Panagbenga:
As of this writing, only fully vaccinated adults are allowed to enter the city through the Visita Website. Meanwhile, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated minors are required to travel with fully-vaccinated companions. Right now, the city’s limit is at 5,000 tourists per day and numbers may increase during the holding of the festival.
We’re born to travel!
