Central Mid-Levels Escalator
The Central Mid-Levels Escalator is the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world with a length of around 800 meters and crosses an elevation of 135 meters. This escalator system is also lined with restaurants, cafes, and shops and it would not cost you a dime traversing the escalators.
Symphony of Lights
The Symphony of Lights is one of the main highlights when strolling around Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour. A laser and light show is being showcased and it happens every single night beginning at 08:00 PM (2000 H) and it is free!
Temple Street Night Market
The 600-meter long Temple Street Night Market is one of the many famous Night Markets in Hong Kong. Known as “Poor Man’s Night Club,” this bustling street features anything from food, retail, and some souvenir items. You can also even try your luck in one of the street’s fortune tellers! The night market hours are from 1400 – 0000 H.
Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car
Found in Lantau Island near the Hong Kong International Airport, the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car is one of the experiences you should never miss when visiting Hong Kong. When I went here, I made sure to go and queue up before the opening hour because the lines can get super long, especially on weekends. I bought my ticket via Klook and upon reaching the line, there is a dedicated queue for tickets bought via Klook. The renowned cable car system connects Tung Chung and Ngong Ping. Upon reaching the Ngong Ping Village, it is just a stone’s throw away from the Tian Tan (Big) Buddha and the Po Lin Monastery. The cable car is around 5.7 kilometers long (the longest bi-cable ropeway in Asia) and the ride lasts for around 25 minutes.

Ngong Ping Village
This 1.5 hectare area in Lantau is one of the main tourist attractions on the island. The Ngong Ping Village is the end point of the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car ride and the place is also home to the Tian Tan Buddha and the Po Lin Monastery. This themed village was designed to blend with the natural scenes of Ngong Ping! The weather here is similar to Baguio City! There are several food stalls, cafes, and souvenir shops in the village while enjoying the cool weather!
Tian Tan Big Buddha
This large bronze statue sitting atop the hills of Lantau Island is one of the main stops in the area. The Tian Tan Buddha, a.k.a. The Big Buddha, is a 34-meter (112-feet) statue overlooking the outlying islands of Hong Kong. To reach the Big Buddha, I climbed 268 steps to see the statue up close. Inside the huge statue is a museum of everything related to buddhism and there are also souvenirs up for sale. (Unfortunately, photo- and video-taking inside the museum is prohibited). This is one of the most religious statues of Buddhism in Hong Kong.
Po Lin Monastery
The Po Lin Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Lantau Island. Just adjacent to the Tian Tan Buddha, the monastery was formerly known as “The Big Thatched Hut.”
Chek Lap Kok (Hong Kong) International Airport 香港國際機場
The HKIA Sky Bridge (Connecting the Main Terminal to the Satellite Concourse)
The Chek Lap Kok International Airport a.k.a. Hong Kong International Airport (IATA: HKG) is the main gateway to the city of Hong Kong. Located in Chek Lap Kok island, it replaced the old Kai Tak Airport and has since been a major gateway in Asia. It is also the 8th busiest airport in the world in terms of passenger traffic. Another “attraction” inside HKIA is the newly opened Sky Bridge which is the world’s longest airside bridge with a height of 28 meters connecting Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 1 Satellite Concourse (T1S).
