My Panagbenga 2023 Experience
Panagbenga 2023 is one of the most anticipated festivals in the Philippines as it showcases not only the rich culture and heritage of the Cordilleras but it also shows the warm welcome of the people of Baguio to its visitors to the Summer Capital. Panagbenga 2023 stages a comeback after a 2-year hiatus because of the pandemic and it proved that it came back bigger.

Panagbenga 2023: A Renaissance of Wonder and Beauty
With many activities lined up for this year’s Panagbenga, the regular schedule of activities has been brought back from a ‘quieter’ celebration of the Baguio Flower Festival last year. The traditional events such as the Grand Street Parade and the Grand Floral Float Parade are now back in the streets of Baguio and serve as the main highlights of the festivities.
Another Panagbenga 2023 staple is the Market Encounter where local products are being showcased and serve as a common meeting place for people to feel the Panagbenga ambiance just beside Burnham Lake.
Speaking of Burnham Lake, the renowned tourist attraction in Baguio City has been dressed up and has been given a new color. The blue hues of Burnham Lake make it more enticing for visitors and locals alike to witness the changing landscape of Burnham Park.
My Panagbenga 2023 Experience would not be complete if I did not visit Session Road for its week-long “Session Road in Bloom.” This is also to give locals and visitors a chance to enjoy Session Road while walking and finding some local finds they can buy as a souvenir from the festival.
My Panagbenga 2023 Take
As it has been 10 years since my last parade as a participant in Panagbenga, the vibe of the Flower Festival is still thrilling whenever February approaches. Panagbenga has always been an integral part of me because it has been a festival full of color and culture since its inception.
Panagbenga 2023 is one for the books for me as it returned my longing for that festival vibe (since my last festival attendance during Dinagyang 2023 in Iloilo) and the happiness and smile I get whenever I get to document the participants’ reactions are just fulfilling. Everyone is just having the time of their lives experiencing Panagbenga once again in the streets of Baguio City.
With that, I am looking forward again to a more meaningful Flower Festival, and the excitement it contains just thrills me!
On to the next festival! We’re born to travel!
