Casa Vallejo: Showcasing Baguio’s Culture and Heritage
People say, things get better as they age. I can say that it is true with Casa Vallejo. With a glimpse of Baguio’s rich history, this hotel is a witness to what Baguio is then and now. For 111 years, Casa Vallejo is one of Baguio’s most valuable treasures. Want to know why? Keep reading below!

Casa Vallejo – Chic, Aesthetic, Stylish, Authentic
As I have grown up here in Baguio, I have come to witness Casa Vallejo’s history and transformation over the years. When I was a little younger, it was just an abandoned building standing along Session Road. As time went by, the City has decided to redevelop the property and bring back its beauty. Named after Salvador Vallejo, this hotel is one of the most iconic structures in the City.
“Casa” is also as old as Baguio, having first served as a dormitory when the City was being built by the Americans. With the rustic interiors found all around, I feel that I am experiencing the vintage Baguio feels. Plus, the pine scent that complements the whole vibe. It is also considered to be (one of) the oldest hotels in Baguio City. An institution in itself, Casa Vallejo is also one of the “Builders of Baguio” awarded during the centenary of the City.
The Rooms They Offer
Now under the Eco Hotels Management, this Boutique Hotel has 2 floors with 24 rooms in 3 configurations.
Standard Room
Good for two persons, this configuration has 8 rooms. I suggest this room to travelers who want to be around the City’s Central Business District as it is near famous tourist spots.
Honeymoon Room
The Honeymoon Room configuration also has 8 rooms: 4 fan rooms and 4 air-conditioned rooms. For couples and honeymooners who want to level up their stay in Baguio, I recommend this room to you. As the City is also known to be a wedding haven, might as well book a stay here!
Family Fan Room
Good for families visiting the City, this configuration can accommodate 4-5 persons. As traveling is a family thing, I recommend Casa to be your hotel of choice as it is just along Upper Session Road.
Turista Boy Tip: All room rates vary from time to time. You can e-mail the hotel here for the season’s latest room rates and for other existing promos.
What to see and do in and around Casa
Casa Vallejo is strategically located in Upper Session Road, near notable tourist destinations and gastronomic attractions. If you are staying in Casa, try having a relaxing spa at North Haven or why not try a fine dining experience at Hill Station. You can also try attending their Yoga Classes downstairs or scratch your travel itch while looking for outdoor stuff in Lagalag. Or, if you are adventurous enough, try wall-climbing in Kalay-at (reopening this February 2020!) If you are a Milk Tea lover, My Girl Milk Tea Shop has got you covered. More concessionaires will be opening in Casa this 2020!
Parks such as the Igorot Stairs, Sunshine Park and Burnham Park are some 5 to 15 minutes away by foot. I suggest you also have a ‘food crawl’ in Session Road while enjoying the cool Baguio breeze.
